I got this as a gift the other day, The Man Who Walked Between Two Towers by Mordicai Gerstein. It’s a children’s book but, it’s beautifully illustrated. It is about Philippe Petit’s tightrope walk between the then unfinished World Trade Center Towers. At the time, it was one of those events that captured the imagination and hearts of the city. While bittersweet in light of the events to come later, it’s still a wonderful tribute to Petit’s daring and at the same time a good way to remember the buildings and their place in New York City’s history.
